A New Day.

Today is amazing !

Miracles happen all around me !

God has used us to help His people and there is no greater feeling!

When we reach to the needs of others, we forget our own troubles and while we concentrate on helping out, then...that allows God to do what He does best... Fight on our behalf... without us getting in the way all the time!

Indeed.... HE IS RISEN !

Introduction.

I have learned that life’s greatest lessons, come in the most unexpected of ways, from sources that we rarely consider and real events that are stranger than fiction…. All because we serve and Awesome God !

I did not realise the Hymns I had made fun of when I was young, were the very things that would lift me out of the pit of hopelessness and plant my feet on higher ground,

solely because of Who….. they were written for.

My memory traces back to that time.

Was it just my desire to ridicule them, relegating them to the status of the ‘Chooks last walk to the Woodheap’

or, was it the way that I had witnessed them being sung; by voices less than cheerful and coupled with the droning of

over-loud, drawn out organ music that rendered them only as a dirge?... Possibly both.

Yet now, after many years of research, I see them in the

vivid and brilliant colour that they deserve.

In Joy, we now sing their stories to gentle, harmonious music and with triumphant voices and happy hearts, we gladly sound out their crescendos with rousing choruses.

With Thanks, my heart reaches across time to their Authors.

The appreciation of their courage strengthens my resolve to stay committed to The King of kings and The Lord of lords.

I stand still and survey the tapestry that reflects my life. The bright colours of joy, the soft tones of reflection, the dark threads of sin that are woven throughout. Then, my eyes trace the golden threads that highlight my victories in Christ my Saviour. These precious moments are woven throughout my scene within the chords of a song that fill my world with Hope… because of Him.

Each true story I have recorded in this Devotional/Journal, is bound by the words of a long-ago brother or sister in Christ, who stretched forth their hand to grasp mine…

and now… yours.

I pray that you are richly blessed by each encounter shared in this journal and that the story of my life, coupled with theirs, may lift you to see our Heavenly Father more clearly each day as we all journey home….. Together.

It was during my toughest time that I lamented to a friend

that I was even having trouble praying because of my grief.

He suggested that I begin to write letters to God and allow my pain to be poured out through my pen onto paper

before The Lord.

A short time later, I was given a journal as a gift

and with my pen, I began to lay my heartache

before The Lord…. And leave it there.

Slowly He nurtured me into the way He needed me to go.

Now I understand so much more than ever before.

I understand that there is only room for Him alone on the throne of my heart. Not even my own heartache

can hold that place.

Now it is time for you to write your story alongside mine.

When we pour our hearts out to God, He will mend, uphold, heal and replenish our broken spirits. He will share in our joyous times and shelter us in the storms, for He alone… is Faithful.

This is the first of 3 editions of my book. In the 2nd Edition, 2019, I will share even deeper truths from my life and from the Hymn writers.

Please share your thoughts and experiences with me.

You can send me an email : lyn58@me.com

I would be honoured to pray for you personally.

Lyn.
